New York City
New York City, a city like no other! From the daunting skyscrapers to the hustle and bustle on the streets it sounds like the stuff of nightmares. Far from it though; despite the 100mph nature of the city it has a strangely relaxing and magical feel to it that can only be appreciated through experiencing it yourself. I first visited New York over 20 years ago when working as a student in the US - and have been back many times since - but never did I expect the opportunity to came up to work alongside such an esteemed New York based photographer in Susan Shek.I spent a full day with Susan at a relaxed Sunday wedding party in Brooklyn before heading out on my own and setting up a number of couple shoots throughout the city over the next few days. As you can see, I also had plenty of time to capture some cityscape images!Doing what I love and developing my skills in a city that holds so many amazing memories was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life!
Utrecht, Netherlands
My first trip of 2023 took me to Utrecht in The Netherlands for the Fearless Photographers / Masters of Wedding Photography conference in aid of the humanitarian effort in Ukraine. It was an honour to be part of the conference that brought together the world's best wedding photographers to speak and inspire a new generation. Utrecht itself was a wonderful city to visit. It had, understandably, an Amsterdam type feel to it but on a smaller, more intimate scale. I took the opportunity to try my hand at a spot of street photography which can be seen below. 
Lanzarote
April 2023 saw us travel to Lanzarote for a relaxing family break before the busy wedding season started. My camera was away for much of the trip but, as always, I managed to grab a few frames! From the glorious warm sunsets to the black sandy beaches, you can see a real contrast in the images below (the images of the waves crashing against the beach are - believe it or not - shot in colour!).
